Hello!
By the way, if it’s not a secret, is Arie your real name?
Moscow is not very good today as the Moscovites are in panic because of the crisis. They are trying to invest their money in something: those who have a lot of money buy cars, flats and those who don’t have money are afraid of famine and buy up such things as sugar, flour, cereal – the situation reminds the one in 1992.Many people lose work or get lower wages. In the provinces the crisis is not so evident yet though I hear that people at the plants began working 2 days a week which means much lower wages. But provincial people are more used to difficulties than Moscovites. So, it’s not the best time now for visiting Russia. And how about the Netherlands? Did you manage to avoid this notorious world crisis?
When did you last visit Russia? Was it Moscow?
I’m sorry for the mixture of names but I read Chapek and others when I was very young and they all were a part of the heritage of Czechoslovakia which used to be one country at that time. Now it’s difficult for me to make up my mind who lived in Czechia and who in Slovakia. As far as Czechia was the first part of the name of the country – now our associations are with this country ( not intentionally, of course and without any wish to hurt Slovakians). But I will certainly take to consideration your warning
Concerning Medvedev. I again want to point out that I’m not good at politics but I think that Putin is still the main figure in Russia and he knows what he does. It’s just like in the UK: just like the Queen Medvedev reigns but doesn’t rule. Besides, Medvedev was unlucky that the beginning of his governing coincided with the beginning of the crisis in Russia. OK, the time will show.
As for my Phd, if I'm not too lazy I hope to complete it in a year or so.
About weaknesses which I can share in the conditions of an Internet. To tell the truth when I asked you this question it wasn’t very serious, I just wanted to tease you a little bit. But if to be serious, being on Dating Talk and speaking on something personal I always have a feeling as if I’m naked in the public though I know that nobody knows me here. Still, I can answer a question if it’s asked. I’ve never been addicted to bad things such as smoking or drinking… I’ve been addicted to good things only: books, traveling, music,.. I like Great Britain very much – have a special feeling for it. As for relationships with men I’ve always been serious and choosy. Still, I’m also not very happy. Sounds boring?

Saluti a tutti, how are you doing?

Yes, Arie is my real name, it's a pretty typical Dutch name. One other 'Arie' is pretty famous as a race-driver in the USA:

Holland has a pretty open economy with a lot of international trade, so we suffer from the international crisis too. They now predict 0,75% shrinkage of the economy next year, but so far not many people have lost their job. I think 2009 (and 2010) will be the hardest year on an international scale, so far we've experienced only the start of a crisis (the incubation time as I like to call it).

About Slovak national sensitivies was half a joke, I feel myself more European than Dutch or Slovak, and don't like nationalism very much. But you're right, most cultural activities in good old Czechoslovakia were centered around Prague, so the Czech part, and this has created a complex with some Slovaks

I don't feel very naked on the internet, and even if so, nobody can us. It's still a pity the crowd is so limited, and tovarish Firedancer seem to be busy too.

I've been to Sint-Piterburg last time in Russia, about 2 years ago. I really loved the atmosphere, and miss the city and people very much. Hope to visit it again, although there are so many nice places, and so little time.

Hoping for good happiness for all of us, I already feel Christmas in the air

Saluti-saluti! Are you a poliglot or just "collect" different conversational formulas? It must produce a great effect on girls Never mind, I'm joking.
Unfortunately I've never heard about this American race-driver, now I'll know.
I understood that it was a joke about Slovaks and Szechs and, by the way, there was another message of mine which, unfortunately was deleted by the administrator together with another spam and you, probably didn't read. It was on the 6th of December and I wrote:My congratulations to all Slovaks and Szechs on this site with St.Mikolosh Day.I read somewhere that in your native country Christmas holidays begin on this day. This time I put Slovaks in front of Chechs!!!
You wrote that a crowd is so limited on this forum, still, I saw that our correspondence was read by about 2 thousand people. That's a number!
By the way, I don't feel Christmas in the air as there is still no snow here.
St.Petersburg is really wonderful. I've been there three times, two times it was a very short visit, but the third time I spent there a week and enjoyed it greatly. It has some special atmosphere: a mixture of Europe and something typically Russian. I'm thinking of visiting it again one day.
Are you having Christmas holidays in the Netherlands yet? Planning anything special?

Sorry for the silence from my side, I was hit by fever around Christmas. Wishing you a great 2009, and a year full of happiness :-)
